About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Recruitment and Progress Coordinator to work with the employability department at the College.

This role is pivotal in supporting candidates at initial assessments through to positive destinations and working towards business growth to meet Telford College, Adult Education Budget financial and achievement targets.

The coordinator will ensure the College’s current and future offer meets the local and regional agenda.  The post holder will raise the profile of the College in meeting employer needs through planned initial assessment and guidance sessions through SWAP delivery.

The role will be responsible for achieving target numbers on each SWAP course, ensuring that candidates meet eligibility, enrolments are processed timely, and candidates have detailed starting point to identify and assist into progression into positive destinations meets the College`s KPI.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Build close working relationships with a range of Job centres to communicate what courses we run throughout the academic year, ensure they have all the dates planned, initial assessments booked and course plans well ahead of the programme to advertise.
  • Keep in regular contact with job centres to ensure their referrals meet the target numbers for courses.
  • Work with new and existing contacts as well as other providers to ensure advertisement of Telford Colleges courses and processes for referral e.g. Shaw trust.
  • Manage the college tracker system to ensure referred candidates are kept warm and give correct information for IA and course eligibility. Keeping leads to ensure when new courses run, we already have a pool of candidates ready.
  • Carry out all initial assessments for all SWAP delivery, including HGV, FLT, Working in schools, Health care and Business.
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

GCSE’s Maths & English C or above (or equivalent)

Skills and expertise

  • Prior experience and working knowledge of sector based work academy programmes (SWAPs)
  • A required knowledge and experience of monitoring the local market intelligence
  • Knowledge of funding streams, especially those associated with the adult education budget
  • A good level of IT skill including BKSB and the ability to analyse and present data
  • Ability to carry out initial assessments with a diverse range of candidates
  • A clean driving licence and transport to enable driving to a range of local sites
