About the role

We are seeking an experienced Receptionist to join our dedicated team at Telford College.

You will be the first point of contact for all pupils, parents, staff and visitors. A professional approach and excellent customer service is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Undertake reception, switchboard and all postroom duties as requested by your Line Manager to ensure all services are staffed at all times, either at your initial place of work or at any other premises which the college currently has or may subsequently acquire.
  2. To be efficient and competent in all procedures with particular attention to fire evacuation, first aid, visitors on campus and head on duty processes
  3. Dealing with telephone enquiries and signposting customers to the correct College personnel.
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  1. A Customer Service or Business Administration level 3 qualification is desirable
  2. A good standard of formal education with a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths and English) grades A-C

  1. Ability to work effectively on your own initiative as well as being part of a team.
  2. Confident disposition – able to deal with all levels of staff, contractors and students and be able to deal with challenging situations where necessary.
  3. Ability to demonstrate patience and an approachable, pleasant, good humoured demeanour.
