About the role

Working in partnership with many primary and secondary schools we are looking for an SGO to provide partners with access to our facilities and staff expertise.

The SGO would join our dedicated sports team and will be integral in terms of keeping the staff and students up to date with the targets in sports participation and help in driving events and participation to meet the need of young people in Telford & Wrekin.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the School Games in your designated area. Your focus will be on addressing national priorities, such as tackling inequalities, promoting youth engagement, and enhancing physical literacy through the School Games.

Qualifications and training

Level 2 qualification (GCSE A* – C, or equivalent) in maths and English or a willingness to attain these qualifications with the support of the College is desirable

  1. A passion for promoting physical activity and sports among young people.
  2. Proven experience in event planning, community engagement, or youth development.
  3. Commitment to addressing inequalities and fostering inclusivity in sports and physical activities.
