About the role

We have a post available at our dedicated high needs centre on campus as a Learning Facilitator. This role will be part of a pro-active enthusiastic team helping to promote student achievements, by setting realistic targets to extend their abilities, raise self-esteem and develop their independence in preparation for adulthood.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be involved in the delivery of programmes for students who have severe and profound learning difficulties.
  • Deliver lessons appropriately in the context of student’s long/ medium term curriculum and EHCP outcomes and to meet the needs of students.
  • Provide feedback and reports as required on student achievement in line with provision policy
  • Lead groups for specific interactions to promote health and well-being and pupil progress under guidance of senior leaders of provision.
  • Supervise and carry out personal care routines with pupils in accordance with provision policy including administering certain medication/medical support and to train in First Aid qualification if required.
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  • Studying or commitment to successfully complete for a HLTA or other relevant Level 3 qualification such as NVQ 3 or equivalent in Education/Early Years is essential.

  • Experience of working with students who have Severe Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs and Profound Multiple Disabilities
  • Excellent oral skills to communicate with students and professionals
