Targeted at meeting the needs of local engineering employers, this course is ideal for those working in an engineering related field looking to boost their career prospects and increase their skills. You’ll learn sector-specific skills, and gain plenty of practical and theoretical knowledge through research, self study, directed study and workplace activities. You’ll explore the core principles of engineering, including project management, design, engineering maths and science and quality process and improvement.

The course contains a number of core subjects plus selected specialist units appropriate to local needs. An example of the course units are;

Careers and progression
You can progress onto an HND in Engineering. Once completed, you can progress to university to top up.
Careers: Engineering technician, quality supervisor, maintenance supervisor
Entry requirements
GCSE Maths (grade A*-C) and one A Level or AS Level pass in maths or a scientific subject. Those with industry experience or mature students who don’t fulfil requirements will be considered individually.
