The OCR level 2 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Art and Design is a one-year full-time vocational course where you will learn a range of art skills from drawing, painting, printing, graphics, and textiles – alongside research skills, reading, writing and presentation techniques. You will work through four different projects, each developing your creative thinking and problem-solving skills and allowing you to produce artistic outcomes you can be proud of’ including a project where you produce your own artwork to sell. This is good preparation to progress onto the level 3 course, further developing your artistic ability on your way to a creative career.

Entry requirements
4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and maths. You will also be required to provide a basic portfolio of your artwork at interview.
Additional information
Resources – Art packs are available for purchase from the Creative Hub and cover the basic resources you will need. Trips – You will visit the National Trust property that will be linked to your final major project, as well as go out on trips to art galleries for inspiration. You will also take part in local and national competitions in disciplines such as photogrpahy, textiles or fine art. Guest speakers from universities and the art and design industry will enrich your learning at the college and help you decide on your future career aims.
