You will be introduced to the world of construction at our dedicated training facility with its full-scale workshops. The course is run by qualified, experienced staff who have all had industry-based experience in their specific vocational areas. They will guide and assist you during the course and help you to fully understand the particulars of this profession. State-of-the-art workshops, equipped with professional quality tools, means that you will be learning in an environment which simulates a reallife building site. The course includes health, safety and welfare in construction; painting and decorating; plastering, block paving, and concrete finishes; basic plumbing and carpentry (locks, latches and woodwork joints). You will also be given the opportunity to take part in work experience placements as part of your course.

– Laying block paving

– Fitting locks and latches
– Painting and wallpapering
– Applying wallpaper to internal and external walls
– Bending and jointing copper pipes
– Painting and decorating
– Concerting
– Preparing background surfaces and applying finishing coats
– Constructing cavity walls in brickwork and blockwork

Progressing to: Level 2 construction

4 GCSEs at grades 2-1 including English or maths
