About the course

Develop an understanding of the impact of digital technologies in business, ethical and moral implications, planning digital projects and testing software, hardware and data and more.

Topics and units

Suitable for anyone wanting a career in digital infrastructure and support. You will develop an understanding of:
• How digital technologies impact business and market environment
• The ethical and moral implications of digital technology
• Using data in software design
• Using digital technologies to analyse and solve problems
• Digital environments, including physical, virtual and cloud environments
• Legal and regulatory obligations relating to digital technologies and internet security
• Planning digital projects, and testing software, hardware and data

Careers and progression

IT support technician, IT security co-ordinator, higher level apprenticeship

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above, including maths and English
