About the course

Keele

Telford College are delighted to partner with Keele University to provide local study options at the Wellington campus, to deliver the Nursing Associate Apprenticeship (subject to validation).

Keele University is to open a base at Telford College as part of an exciting collaboration to train a new generation of health and social care workers. Keel University already run health and social care programmes that are rated among the best in the country and will begin enrolling students for the new collaboration over the next few months. The collaboration is part of a five-year NHS Workforce Plan, which will see Keele University having a base at the college’s Wellington campus from September 2025.

The Nursing Associate programme is being delivered by Keele University at Telford College’s Wellington campus, subject to validation*.

It takes a practical approach to the knowledge, skills and behaviour development required to be a Nursing Associate and is designed to nurture individuals to make a difference in the workplace.

You will be based at Telford College’s Clinical Skills Centre, which has three industry-standard wards, including two 4-bedded bays, a maternity and social care setting.

There will be opportunities to join lectures remotely and attend skills sessions at the Keele campus, as well as work placements with members of the Integrated Care System for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

The course is for anyone looking to become a Nursing Associate who works in a caring role and has a desire to develop their healthcare career. It is underpinned by Nursing and Midwifery Council standards for nursing associates.
