About the course

TC Black Colour

Are you looking to combine your love of football with an ambitious college education? If so, look no further!

The Football & Education programme by Wolverhampton Wanderers Foundation and Telford College is tailored for students aged 16-19 to undertake a full-time, comprehensive education in sport whilst also developing their footballing skills and equipping them for diverse career paths in football.

The two-year programme includes studying a full Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport, participating in the training and games programme and an extensive enrichment programme through Wolves Foundation and Telford College. This includes activities at Molineux Stadium, Compton Park training ground, and guest lectures from football professionals and players.

You’ll develop your knowledge in sports psychology, anatomy and physiology, fitness training programmes and current issues in sport. You’ll also gain practical skills in sports leadership, practical sports performance, and coaching, while gaining insights into professional development, research methods, and business in sport. The course will equip students for diverse career paths in football, both on and off the field – whether that be as a player, or in roles such as coaching & player development, sports science, business & marketing, education, and more.

As a student on the pathway, you will work with UEFA licensed coaches from Wolves Foundation, receiving 5 hours a week of training in addition to weekly fixtures, competing in the EFL’s Community & Education Football Alliance league (CEFA) against other professional clubs including Liverpool, Aston Villa, and more.

Register your interest for the Wolves taster event on Wednesday 9th April 4:00-5:30pm

Additionally, you will benefit from free gym membership, a bespoke strength and conditioning training plan, and the opportunity to gain additional qualifications in officiating and coaching. You will also benefit from powerful performance analysis insights and feedback using player data GPS vests and Veo cameras, both for yourself as a player and for the sessions you lead as a coach.
