About the course

This painting & decorating taster course is designed to prepare leaners wishing to enter the industry or a keen DIYer who is looking to improve their knowledge and skills

Topics and units

  • Health & Safety requirements
  • Correct measurement and planning
  • Understanding a specification
  • How to prepare plastered surfaces – holes, cracks and imperfections
  • How to apply emulsion by brush and roller to wall surfaces
  • Cutting in correctly
  • How to prepare and paint timber surfaces
  • How to paint panel and flush doors
  • How to remove wallpaper correctly
  • How to apply wallpaper (Basic)

Entry requirements

No prior skills or training is required for this course, however, a good understanding of maths and English is desirable

 

Over the age of 18

Dates for this course run on Tuesday evenings, 6pm-9pm, from:

  • 05/11/24 – 03/12/24
  • 14/01/25 – 11/02/25
  • 04/03/25 – 01/04/25
  • 13/05/25 – 17/06/25
