Develop the relevant skills for a career in the media, broadcast and production sector such as film, TV or radio, teaming up with a local employer to produce engaging content for an ever-changing audience. Gain a broad understanding of the creative industry, become a maestro of planning and pre-production, and develop production and editing skills to meet industry standards. On placement you’ll be assisting with shoots, getting involved with the conception and planning of projects and collaborating with a whole host of internal and external clients. You might even end up on the other side of the camera.
Careers and progression
Studio sound engineer, audio visual or lighting technician, stagehand, media researcher, video editor, broadcast engineer, and various roles in TV, film or radio.
Entry requirements
4 GCSEs at grade 4+ including Maths and English
Additional information
Industry placement (315+ hours) with a local employer.
Occupational specialisms in either content creation and production or events and venues technician.
Course is assessed through exams, controlled assessments, and employer set projects.
Opportunities for trips to media events, studios and international trips such as to Paris.
