About the course

This flexible one-year course can open the door to your career in the sport and leisure industry, giving you the skills to be successful. Whether your aspirations lie with coaching, teaching, officiating or even sports Injury and rehabilitation, you’ll cover all aspects of the sporting world, providing you with a great foundation. Our students gain places at some of the best universities in the country, graduating to highly paid careers. Among the units you will study are practical sports, nutrition for the sports performer, anatomy and physiology, planning and leading in sport, and psychology for the sports performer. Students also have the opportunity to access practical coaching situations with local schools and clubs, and will look at the elements involved in planning a successful sports event.

Work placement opportunities: School PE departments, sports clubs and venues, such as Edgbaston cricket ground, Telford Golf & Spa Resort, Shropshire FA

Careers and progression

Level 3 sport diploma, apprenticeship, HND in sports performance, gym instructor courses, or personal trainer job

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above
