A mixture of theory and practical exercises, this course can open the door to a wide range of indoor and outdoor pursuits, increasing your knowledge of how the body works. It allows you to investigate risks and hazards in these different environments. Students will also take part in a range of off-site physical activities such as mountain biking, hiking and expeditions, and you’ll have chance to research job opportunities in the sport and active leisure industry to gain an idea of future employment opportunities. Among the disciplines taught on this course are life skills such as map reading, fitness, and an examination of how the body works. All students will also be trained in the all-important functional skills of literacy and numeracy.
