About the course

This session will contain theory and simulated practice within a clinical skills learning environment. Theory content will include related anatomy and physiology, evidence-based practice processes and how to identify and reduce associated risk.

Simulated practice will be facilitated by a Clinical Educator promoting a safe learning environment. Following the session learners will be given a Certificate of Attendance and provided with a competency document for completion in practice.

Additional information

This course is suitable for Health Care Practitioners who will be performing urethral catheterisation as part of their clinical role. The learner will need to be supported in their workplace to gain experience in urethral catheterisation by a practitioner who is proficient in the skill and who will sign to confirm that the learner has gained competence in practice.
