This course provides you with a range of skills including the diagnosis of complex system faults and advanced systems operation. You will gain the essential knowledge for diagnostic technicians working on light vehicles (cars and vans) in all types of garages, dealerships and maintenance depots. You will be working on hi-tech rigs and live vehicles, and will use the latest diagnostic tools for diesel and petrol vehicles. The course includes diagnosis of complex system faults; advanced systems operation; multi-step diagnostic repair; and transmission systems. Assessments will be through a combination of practical experience on motor vehicles and rigs, online tests and written assignment. You will need boots and overalls. Our incredible facilities on site include the state-of-theart £3.5 million Automotive Centre, which houses three specialist workshops, and the college has strong links with local dealerships and garages.
