Higher Technical Qualifications

This is an exciting time to be considering studying at a higher level at Telford College.  The government is investing heavily in upskilling adults to broaden their skills and knowledge and we have received funding to support us in doing just that!

Higher Education Qualifications are generally viewed as qualifications studied after achieving A Levels or Level 3 qualifications, however we also welcome applications from mature applicants who are looking to increase their skills and knowledge, please see the specific entry criteria for individual courses to find out more.

Whether you are looking to continue your education, start a new career, gain promotion or even start your own business, we offer a range of higher level programmes at Telford College.

Things to look out for:

We still have places on our Higher Education programmes in September 2024. We offer part time BTEC HNC’s, HND’s and Foundation Degrees in various subjects and some of these have been classified as Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQ’s) which are mapped to Occupational Standards and endorsed by Employers

If you aren’t ready to commit to a studying for a full degree we are also offering three Modular Acceleration Programmes in September 2024 in Health, Digital and Business. These fully funded programmes will be short, delivered in an evening and will provide you with the opportunity to upskill your knowledge and skills in your specialist area and pay no tuition fees. And if you enjoy them they will also provide you a pathway onto a full Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) in 2025.

We are also working in partnership with our local Universities to develop further higher level University level programmes for delivery from 2025.

Studying a Higher Education qualification at Telford College offers many benefits:

Enhance your employability

Studying with us will help you gain relevant knowledge, skills and enhance your employability. Our links to local employers will provide you with opportunities for employment, work experience and mentoring.

Reduced cost

Our higher level fees are lower than average and studying local means you could also save on travel and accommodation costs and stay close to family and friends.

You can also earn while you learn – it is common for our higher education students to combine their part time studies with part-time work, allowing them to financially support their own studies and often gain valuable industry experience alongside.

One supportive campus

Everything you need is here – experienced tutors with in-depth knowledge in their field of expertise and industry-standard facilities. You will benefit from smaller class sizes and more individual support when you need it – we can also provide specialist support if you have additional support needs, this is usually funded through the Disability Support Allowance (DSA).
