About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Recruitment Consultant for Apprenticeships.

You will be overseeing and managing the recruitment process to successfully recruit apprentices for the Employer Engagement Team at Telford College.

Collaborating with team members to establish, manage, and maintain the recruitment process for apprentices aged 16-18 and 19+ is extremely important. The role will focus on ensuring repeat business opportunities are secured, while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with employers to promote and secure opportunities for new and repeat business.
  • Oversee and raise awareness of a range of employer engagement courses, including distance learning and bespoke options.
  • Ensure apprenticeship enrolment numbers align with curriculum targets.
  • Attend external marketing events, job fairs, open evenings, apprenticeship events, and school visits as directed by management to promote a positive image of Telford College.
  • Liaise with schools and colleges to engage with young people and parents, discussing apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Advertise, support, and develop apprenticeship vacancies.
  • Select apprenticeship applicants for suitability through face-to-face, Teams, and telephone interviews.
  • Conduct interviews to match applicants with vacancies and employers, ensuring a precise matching service to meet employer requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build relationships that align with employer business needs.
  • Complete the necessary documentation for the enrolment process.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings to agree on apprenticeship terms with employers.
  • Collaborate with the work experience team to support students in progressing to apprenticeships.
  • Maintain the College database, currently ProEngage and ProSolution.
  • Achieve personal and directorate KPIs, contributing to the self-assessment process.
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  • Level 2 qualification (GCSE A* – C, or equivalent) in maths and English or a willingness to attain these qualifications with the support of the College

Skills and expertise

  • A track record of working in a business development/account management environment
  • Ability to carry out initial assessments with a diverse range of candidates
  • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels
  • A clean driving license and transport to enable driving to a range of local sites
  • Ability to work to achieve college KPIs and work to agreed targets
  • A good level of IT skill including BKSB and the ability to analyse and present data
