It was fantastic to see our higher education students in all their finery in the centre of Wellington last week for their annual graduation ceremony.
Not only was it a celebratory occasion to recognise their hard work and tremendous achievements, it was also a timely reminder of the wide range of adult education courses available to the people of Telford.
They all have one thing in common: A pathway to promotion, new careers, or simply the chance to learn more about a specialist area you’ve maybe long had an interest in.
And what’s even better is that a significant number of these programmes are free – you can do a university degree without collecting the university debt, right here in Telford.
The study hours are varied too, meaning that if you are already working, or trying to juggle family or childcare commitments, they can be fitted in around your busy lives.
So what exactly is on offer? Well for starters, our Access to Higher Education courses are perfect for anyone over 19 looking to progress onto a degree or other university-level course – you don’t need to have any formal qualifications.
Check out our HND and HNC Business courses too, which can be completed part-time around your family or work commitments and topped up to full degree level.
Line managers, team leaders, and supervisors will be interested in our ILM level three diploma in Leadership and Management – a remote course which is free for candidates who meet the criteria.
What else? Well the numbers really do add up on our AAT accountancy courses which prepare you for a high-profile career in one of the fastest growing and most diverse professional sectors in the UK.
If you love working with children, then our supporting teaching and learning qualifications will give you all the tools you need to interact with young people in a school environment.
And on our CIPD human resources courses, you will learn skills which will be invaluable for the whole of your life.
This is just a tiny snapshot – we haven’t even got round to talking about the wide range of apprenticeships, from entry all the way up to degree level.
Want to know more? We have an open event starting at 5pm on October 12th, which is a fantastic opportunity to speak to staff and students, and take a look around our university-standard campus.
