If it is subsequently identified following the second pair of eyes check that the wrong question paper packet has been opened, it must be resealed. The incident must be reported to the relevant awarding body’s Malpractice Investigation Team immediately. (Section 5.1)

Note – The second pair of eyes check will have been undertaken by the exams team immediately before a question paper packet is opened. However, invigilators must be aware of the steps which must be taken if they identify that the wrong question paper packet has been opened whilst question papers are being placed on candidates’ desks.
