A nationally recognised qualification designed for adults aged 19+ looking to progress into careers in the health sector who may not have traditional Level 3 qualifications. It provides the knowledge, academic skills, and confidence needed to study health-related degrees such as Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Paramedic Science, Occupational Therapy and more.

Health Units: Foundations of Health Care Practice, Professional Behaviours: Health Professions. Biology Units: Human Cell Biology, Nutrition and Digestion, The Human Skeletal and Muscular System, The Urinary System, Reproduction, The Nervous System, Respiration and Circulation. Psychology Units: Behaviourism, Mental Health and Illness. Sociology Units: Sociology of Health. Related Studies and Study Skills: Academic Study Techniques, Progressing to HE, Numeracy in a Health Context.
Completing the Access to HE Diploma in Health Professions opens up a wide range of higher education and career pathways in the health and social care sector. Many learners progress to university to study a variety of degree-level courses, including:

Some learners also go on to complete further postgraduate study or specialist training in areas such as advanced practice, leadership, or clinical specialisms.
3–5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including maths and English. Routes are available if you need to attain GCSE maths/English
Most units are assessed through written work such as written assignments and reports, including some essays. Some units are assessed via an exam, or through presentations.
Work experience is encouraged alongside studies to support and enhance your university application and for crucial experience in the health care sector. The course includes a range of offsite visits to local universities and guest speaker talks from UCAS, Healthcare Professionals and Alumni.
