The national extended diploma in aeronautical engineering course is delivered over two years. In year one, you will study general engineering units such as engineering principles and product design and manufacture.

Year two covers additional units required for the national extended diploma in aeronautical engineering and specialises in aeronautical units such as gas turbine engines, propulsion systems and mechanical systems. This course is equivalent to 3 A levels.

Work placement opportunities: Collins Aerospace, MOOG aircraft group, Radius Aerospace
Progression is available to an A level 3 job role, higher apprenticeship, or a degree course with a foundation year. Potential future careers include mechanical engine technician/Civil Non licenced Technician, aircraft fitter, aircraft maintenance technician, miliary technical roles.
4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English and maths
This course is graded through externally marked exams and assessments.
Requires Personal Protective Equipment including Navy blue overalls and Protective footwear
