COURSE

Investigate and develop a broad range of skills and techniques to work with a variety of materials with confidence and creativity.

You’ll explore pencil, ink, paint (acrylic, water colour and oil) along with print making. You’ll also develop a range of drawing and painting techniques, such as creating composition, perspective, colour theory, anatomy and working from life.

British Ironwork Centre, Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust
Progressing to: Degree in fine art, or jobs in graphic design, media advertising, interior design, photography
Aspirational careers: Jewellery designer, TV or film animator, concept artist, museum or gallery curator
5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 including English and maths. Must show an ability in art either through GCSE Art (grade 4 or above) or Level 2 BTEC Art & Design at merit grade or a portfolio of artwork to be presented for assessment
Internally assessed and externally moderated Portfio and exam
Trips will include visits to universities and local, regional and national art exhibitions.
