This flexible one-year course can open the door to your career in the sport and leisure industry, also providing the opportunity to progress onto level 3 sports courses.

Whether your aspirations lie with coaching, teaching, officiating or even sports Injury and rehabilitation, you’ll cover all aspects of the sporting world, providing you with a great foundation. Our students gain places at some of the best universities in the country.

– Participating in Sport
– Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise
– Introduction to Healthy Exercise and Nutrition
– Lifestyle and the sports performer
– Physical Fitness and Injuries in Sport
– Plan, Deliver and Evaluate an Activity Session
– Strength and conditioning training

Work placement opportunities: School PE departments, sports clubs and venues, such as Shropshire Cricket, Telford Golf & Spa Resort, Shropshire FA, Telford & Wrekin Leisure services
Level 3 sport diploma, apprenticeship, HND in sports performance, gym instructor courses, or personal trainer job
4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above
This course is currently assessed through coursework, comprising of presentations, assignments, worksheets, practical assessments, teamwork sessions and through leading sports activities.
