The pilot non-EHCP course is designed for young people who do not have an Education, Health and Care Plan but would benefit from additional support to develop key life and employability skills. The programme is structured with three mornings in college for classroom-based learning and skill development, and three days on placement, providing practical, real-world experience in a workplace setting.
Learners have opportunities to gain practical experience through activities such as work placements, team projects, and enterprise challenges, which help build essential skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. The course also supports digital skills, career planning, and financial awareness, giving students the tools they need to navigate adult life successfully. They also work towards achieving functional skills in Maths and English, helping to strengthen their core academic abilities alongside practical and personal skills.
