Online courses offer the ultimate learning flexibility

New online courses are launched

Telford College is running a programme of free online courses – proving that distance is no barrier when it comes to learning new skills, boosting confidence, or opening doors to fresh career opportunities.

The college has 30 online courses, offering either level two or level three qualifications. Most courses run for 12 weeks, and the flexibility of online learning means people can enrol any time.

The courses are available to adults aged 19 and over in qualifying areas, and cover a broad range of topics such as health, business, education, counselling, customer service and more.

Telford College online learning co-ordinator Isabelle Eddies said: “If physically being in college is something you can’t or don’t want to do, our online courses could be just what you’re looking for.

“They give you the flexibility to study when, where, and how you want – with the added bonus of no course fees. All we need is your commitment.

“You can learn online, or we can post a workbook out to you if you don’t have access to a computer or laptop. All of the courses are nationally recognised, and valued by employers.”

Chandini Pavithran Nair, from Telford, thanked tutors and everyone at Telford College for their support. She completed a level 2 certificate in caring for children and young people, and has now enrolled on a level 2 certificate in dementia care.

“I really enjoyed completing my online course with Telford College. The course helped me improve my knowledge and understanding, especially in health and social care.

“It also increased my confidence and helped me develop skills such as communication, time management, and professional awareness.

“The course has given me more confidence when applying for jobs and attending interviews. I believe it has prepared me well for future opportunities, and I am continuing to apply for roles in the healthcare sector.”

Judith Wright, from Wolverhampton, discovered Telford College’s online learning offer through an online search and enrolled on a counselling course.

She said: “I can only say that my experience was one which I would recommend to anyone. The course was very well organised, and it was reassuring to know that there was prompt support offered as and when needed.

“The work was continually assessed so you were never left in a state of quandary. Any comments were always worded to encourage you – and this again motivates you.”

Isabelle Eddies added: “Online learning has become one of the most accessible and empowering ways for adults to upskill.

“It allows you to study at times that suit work, childcare, or personal commitments, and learn from anywhere – at home, on the move, or during quiet moments in a busy schedule.

“It’s ideal for learners who live further afield or prefer not to commute, and you can revisit materials as often as needed, building confidence gradually.”
