Telford College announces new Digital Learner Manager

Bright Chitanda, learner manager for digital, computing and IT at Telford College

It’s an exciting time to study digital at Telford College, as the new academic year begins at the Digital and Maths Skills Hub.

The college has appointed Bright Chitanda as the new learner manager for the digital curriculum, overseeing the development and delivery of vocational courses, T-Levels, higher education and adult provision, as well as apprenticeships.

Bright brings significant experience in digital transformation within the education and training sector. Having previously worked on modernising training within the NHS, he’s looking forward to introducing blended learning and embedding digital technologies across the service.

Looking ahead, he has ambitious plans for the curriculum: “I’m a huge fan of the technological advances in delivering education – I want to get the very best out of latest innovations from multimedia to VR and AI systems.

“I have a real passion for developing new digital pathways and for motivating teams to deliver their best. I’m also very data-driven and I like to understand what the local skills market is telling us and make sure our offer reflects that, so students have the best possible career prospects.

“I’m looking to bring data analytics into the curriculum as we explore how to address skills gaps in the region and ensure our courses reflect employer needs. If learners can develop these skills, it will place them in a strong position for employability.

“My vision is for Telford College to be recognised as a leader in digital education across the region. In the short term, I want to strengthen our existing digital provision and expand employer partnerships, so our students are always connected to industry.

“Looking further ahead, I see real growth opportunities in cybersecurity, cloud computing, AI, data analytics, and digital marketing, areas that are vital for the future workforce.

“I am committed to making Telford College a digital hub, pushing forward with the latest technological advances to strengthen our curriculum. With a fantastic team in place, we are excited to see what our students achieve.”
