Funding

There are helpful government funding options available to make apprenticeships affordable for your business. If your organisation pays the apprenticeship levy, you can use your levy funds to cover training and assessment costs, with an additional government top‑up added to your account. Employers with unused levy funds can also choose to support others through levy transfers.

If you don’t pay the levy, the government typically contributes most of the training and assessment costs, so your contribution is reduced.

In many cases, this makes apprenticeships a cost‑effective way to develop your workforce and invest in skills that directly benefit your business.

There are also additional incentives designed to support employers, especially those taking on younger apprentices or individuals with additional needs, helping you cover some of the extra costs associated with recruitment and development. apprenticeships.gov.uk+1
