The Willow Tree

At Willow Tree, we are committed to providing outstanding education and support for students with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex needs.

We offer a personalised curriculum tailored to each student’s individual strengths, interests, and needs, enabling them to develop the skills required for adulthood and greater independence. Our engaging, multi-sensory approach promotes learning through a range of specialist facilities, including dedicated classrooms, sensory rooms, and physiotherapy studios. Students can access provision for up to five days per week, depending on their individual programme.

Teaching takes place on a one-to-one basis or within small groups, supported by a high staff-to-student ratio. This enables staff to provide personalised guidance, maximise learning opportunities, and ensure student wellbeing. Our highly skilled team includes specialist learning facilitators who design bespoke educational programmes that foster independence and support preparation for adult life, alongside experienced Learning Support Assistants who are trained to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Students are encouraged to become active members of both the college and wider community. Regular community-based learning opportunities include visits to local shops, nature parks, leisure centres, gyms, swimming facilities, and other community venues, helping students develop confidence, independence, and social skills in real-world settings.
