This allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for a bricklaying career. Working in our designated construction centre, you will be taught by qualified, experienced staff with many years of trade experience, using professional quality tools in an environment which simulates real-life building work. A pathway to employment, apprenticeship, or the Level 3 diploma in construction.

– Principals of building construction, information and communication
– Health & safety
– Thin joint masonry
– Masonry cladding
– Building solid walling
– Isolated and attatched piers
– Interpreting work drawings
– Construction cavity walling
– Forming masonry structures
Progressing to: City & Guilds courses, apprenticeships, or Level 2 Bricklaying or Construction

Aspirational careers: Construction director, building company manager, building inspector
Must complete initial assessment and be working towards level 1 maths and English
Candidates complete a series of hands-on bricklaying tasks. Each unit also includes a knowledge test
Required Personal Protective Equipment:

– Suitable work trousers (black or dark grey)
– Dark coloured polo shirt (black, dark grey or navy)

Suitable protective footwear
