Want to get a head start? This qualification is perfect for you if you’re ready to make your mark in the people profession. This is ideal for anyone embarking on a career in HR, learning & development, or organizational development. And for those already in a support role and looking to take the next step on the career ladder.

You’ll explore key areas of people practice, including business culture, change, and core HR principles, developing the knowledge and skills needed for a career in HR. Designed to be accessible and flexible, the course is well suited to adult learners balancing work or family commitments. Successful learners also gain CIPD student membership, giving professional recognition and a strong starting point within the people profession.

This course introduces learners to key principles in human resources and people management, providing a strong foundation for those interested in people-focused roles within business. Students will explore business, culture and change in context, gaining an understanding of how organisations evolve and respond to internal and external influences.

The programme also develops analytical skills through the principles of analytics, enabling learners to interpret data and support decision-making. In addition, the course focuses on the core behaviours required for people professionals, such as communication, ethical practice, and relationship building. Learners will also study the essentials of people practice, equipping them with practical knowledge and skills needed to support effective workforce management and contribute to organisational success.
Students can progress into HR roles such as HR assistant, HR administrator, organisational development officer, or learning and development administrator. Those working in HR may also progress onto the CIPD level 5 associate diploma in organisational learning and development to further advance their career.
Math and English at grade 4 or above, or equivalent.
Four coursework units
Students gain foundation membership of the chartered institute of personnel and development (CIPD), giving them professional recognition and a valuable head start in HR and people-focused careers.
