On this two-year course you will develop technical skills in graphic design, photography, filming and video editing and work with real-world clients to showcase your skills to universities and potential employers.

Taught by skilled tutors and guest lecturers, you will gain a valuable, working insight into making music videos, TV advert/ident production, social action projects, and much more.

Year 1
– Music video project

-Advanced skills development projects (Audio/VR etc)

Work placement opportunities:
Ofcom, BBC radio, sports team marketing, digital marketing.
Progressing to: Ideal preparation for higher education, apprenticeships such as digital marketing, and jobs as video editor, photographer, or social media manager

Aspirational careers: Film Director, Creative Director, Radio Producer/Presenter
4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English or maths, and some experience in creative media
This course is marked through a practical portfolio & written assessments.
Resources – You will have access to our extensive range of camera, lighting, audio, editing and IT equipment. However, we recommend that you have your own set of headphones (with a mini-jack connection) and an SD card 16gb+.

You will have the opportunity to go on trips to visit TV and radio studios, galleries and cinemas as well as photography trips in Birmingham and Liverpool. Guest speakers from the BBC, ITV and universities will enrich your learning at the college and help you decide on your future career aims.
