This two-year qualification designed for students aged 16+ who want to pursue a career in teaching, childcare, or educational support.

It has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets their needs. This enables you to continue your education both academically and practically with 750 hours of work placement with children and young people.

– How to support children and young people’s education
– Safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing

Understanding and managing behaviour

– Observing and assessing children and young people

– Equality and diversity

– Special educational needs and disability

– English as an additional language

– Working with parents, carers and wider families
– Working with agencies and services that support children, families and carers

– Reflective practice and other forms of professional development
Careers such as nursery worker, teacher, teaching assistant, play worker, learning mentor.
A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above, including maths and English.

For the primary school teacher pathway, students will need to achieve grade 4 or above in GCSE science.
