Suitable for those students who are looking for a career where they are caring for others, such as Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, Social worker and more, or if you would like to progress on to Higher Education such as our HND in Healthcare Professions’ Support, University to study Psychology, Sociology, Teaching or become a Nursing Associate though the local hospital trust – this has many units, and your options are wide and varied.

Unit:
Year 1 – Human Lifespan Development, Working in Health and Social Care, Meeting individual care and support needs, Principles of safe practice, Sociological perspectives, work placement, supporting individuals with additional needs
Year 2- Anatomy and physiology, public health, psychological perspectives, Dementia, Research, physiological disorders, work placement

Work placement opportunities:
Telford & Wrekin Council, Princess Royal Hospital, Morris Care, Coverage Care, TACT, Mind, SEN schools and the WillowTree.
Progressing to: degrees in nursing, midwifery, paramedic science, or senior roles in the NHS or private healthcare sector, psychology, social work degrees
Aspirational careers: Care service owner, nursing director, senior social worker or counsellor
Entry requirements 5 GCSE’s at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths (you will continue to study maths alongside your vocational studies if you don’t have a 4)
