This Supported Internship programme has been developed in partnership with DFN Project Search and our partner employers; Princess Royal Hospital and Kuehne + Nagel (based at MOD Donnington).
This fantastic opportunity is a one-year transition to paid employment programme that is aimed at young people aged 18-24 with an EHCP. The programme is based in a real working environment where you will participate in workplace rotations within the employer to develop your skills and to see what type of work you enjoy. You will be able to select rotations that reflect your interests and ambitions, including catering, administration, retail, warehousing, portering and more. This will be supported by short classroom sessions to help you develop the skills you need for the world of work.
Working with a tutor and a job coach you will have the opportunity to learn and practice essential skills in a real working environment. Through a process of support and systematic instruction, you will learn the various skills you need to carry out your job role.
You will develop enhanced communication skills, behaviour and conduct awareness for the workplace and safe working practices as well as continue to develop the literacy and numeracy skills that you will need in the workplace.
