Hosting a T Level student is an opportunity to invest in emerging talent while bringing fresh skills, ideas and enthusiasm into your organisation.
T Levels are employer-designed technical qualifications, equivalent to three A Levels, combining classroom learning with substantial experience in the workplace. Students develop sector-specific knowledge at College before applying and developing those skills through a meaningful industry placement with an employer.
A T Level is a nationally recognised, technical qualification designed to give students the skills and knowledge needed for a specific industry. It combines classroom-based learning with a substantial work placement, with 80% classroom learning and 20% industry placement, ensuring learners gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills. For employers, T Levels offer the chance to engage with motivated learners, influence their training, and support the development of the next generation of skilled professionals.
At Telford College, our T Level students are developing skills across Accounting, Management & Administration, Digital, Education & Early Years, Health and Engineering, creating placement opportunities for employers across a wide range of sectors.
You don’t just provide a placement – you help develop your industry’s future workforce. Our team will work with you to identify an appropriate placement opportunity and support both your organisation and the student throughout their experience.
Former Telford College student Liahna Wilson is living her dream after progressing from the college’s inaugural Health T Level to studying Paramedic Science at the University of Staffordshire. Having found her passion through hands-on learning and industry placement, Liahna credits the T Level with giving her the confidence, experience and direction to succeed in a demanding healthcare career. Reflecting on her journey, she said:
“The T Level really confirmed that this was the career I wanted to follow
– it prepared me for university and gave me real insight into working in healthcare.”
To begin with, our apprentice demonstrated an excellent ability to pick up a task and get straight to work. She was engaging with staff across our different offices, and self-managing her timetable and tasks in no time
The process of hiring an apprentice with Telford College was simple and easy to manage. After listing a job outline in July, we interviewed potential candidates suggested by the college. Our apprentice was selected and joined the team the following August.
